Confessions pt. 3: I Love Carbs

These are my confessions: I love carbs & coffee.  I love carbs so much that Usher and I are going to collab on Confessions Pt. 3: Carbs.

My recent trip to San Francisco made donuts my side-piece and toast my main-squeeze. I was never really a big toast person, until I visited The Mill that is. A friend in an UberPool basically made me pinky promise to visit The Mill, and I always keep my food pinky promises.

This was no basic Wonder Bread with Country Crock. Pictured (clockwise): slice of whole wheat sesame poppy seed with jam, a latte, a slice of mountain rye with cream cheese, and a house coffee. This dog (and all the other dogs) went to heaven.

The space inside The Mill was flooded with a bunch of natural light and open space- naturally I had to eat more to fill that open space. From the four toast options I decided to go with the dark mountain rye with cream cheese, salt, and fresh ground pepper. This beautiful slice of toast was so flavorful and dense that it kept me full for SIX HOURS. A single piece of toast kept Juicy J full for six hours! Game changer.

The space is designed so people can lounge and talk shit while snacking. There was a couple at the table over on a Tinder date; I really enjoyed eaves dropping. The bread is made front-of-house so patrons see exactly how The Mill gives birth to slices of Beyonce. The shop also sells their bread by the loaf so you can enjoy carbs at all hours of the night...BLESS.

If you're ever in San Fran you should definitely stop by The Mill on Divisadero for breakfast or dinner (they have pizza!). Check out what else The Mill serves up on their Instagram!
